Frederikshavn has gained a new attraction with a newly constructed observation platform (71 M), in the form of Skagens Gren, the nothernmost point of Jutland, which extends from the top of the hill at Pikkerbakken.
The platform provides a unique view of the town, harbour and the islands of Hirsholmene as well as to Sæby and Skagen, and in clear weather, also the island of Læsø.
You can also see Kongestenen (The King Stone) from the platform, where three Frederiks have had their names carved - the latest, however, still Crown Prince.
The viewpoint is a popular location for weddings.
You can drive by car to pikkerbakken, but it is also a beautiful hike from Møllehuset restaurant, which is also the start of a MTB track to the top.
