Experience Hirtshals, Tornby & Tversted

Enjoy small or long walks in the scenic countryside. The North Sea Trail - Denmark's longest hiking trail (1500 km) runs through the area from Tornby, over Hirtshals and Tversted and further on to Skagen. The Ancient Road follows the same route. In the dune plantations there are many different marked routes, and many unmarked routes for the more adventurous. Experience Hirtshals with the urban routes Kløverstier.

You can also go by bike along the Vestkystruten, or enjoy one of the two Panorama routes with beautiful and varied nature experiences. Or try the challenging mountain bike track in Tornby Klitplantage "The White Track" of 14 kilometers with lots of great challenges. In Tversted Klitplantage there is a blue mountain bike track that everyone can enjoy.

North Jutland is among horse people called "Little Island", both because of our beautiful landscape and because of the many Icelandic horses in our region. Denmark's longest riding route Rideruten.dk runs through the area from Tornby, over Hirtshals and Tversted and further towards Frederikshavn. You can ride on the assigned tracks in the dune plantations.

Many come to Hirtshals to fish - and for good reason. In Hirtshals you can fish from the pier, from the beaches or take a fishing boat out on the open sea. Hirtshals has no less than 9 cruises, which take fishing trips all year round.

At Hirtshals Tourist Office you can get maps of bike routes, hiking routes and buy fishing licenses for your active holiday.
